Andalucía, all the signature images of Spain – flamenco dancers, fiestas and sherry, Don Juan and Carmen – are linked with this huge southern province. It embraces both the magnificent snow-capped Sierra Nevada and a sun-baked coast that claims, with justification, to have some of the best beaches in Europe; particularly the glorious swathes of golden sand on the Costa de la Luz, the aptly-named "Coast of Light".
